Sometimes legal name changes are a very good idea. (Everyone named George Zimmerman, call your lawyer.) My grandma changed her name from Martha Cinderella (Cinderella Johnson was one of her ancestors) to Martha Jane by the simpler expedient of always signing her name that way. If she had not done this, or if my Mom had found this out sooner, my sister might be Cinderella Anne instead of Jane Anne.
