KC Area Folks: Serving as a Community Speech & Debate Judge

Folks,

My wife wrote almost all of the following, I just customized it. She is right about the snacks. NCFCA people put on a spread. And if you (or your significant others) judge next week you will hear good, entertaining speakers. For free! And you are qualified.

This Speech & Debate League (NCFCA) is specifically for Christian Homeschoolers to prepare them to think clearly and express themselves winsomely -- and don't we all want that not only for our own children, but for all children?

One way to further this goal is to come, listen to them speak and offer feedback:  in short, to be a Community Judge.  The opportunity requires a 3-hour time commitment, and NO prior speech or debate training is required.  The necessary judge orientation will take place within the 3 hour time, and I must say:  Hearing these young people -- the hope of our future -- speak & debate is a real joy!  Come out and listen!  I really believe you will be glad you did.  And we -- the students and parents of NCFCA -- will be most grateful!  If you really like it, we could always use you in a second 3-hour slot.

The Tournament is Thursday, Feb. 20 -- Saturday, Feb. 22nd and various shifts are available anywhere from 7:15am to 7:15pm.
It will be held at Emmanuel Baptist Church at 101st & Metcalf in Overland Park.

* And about that 'Free Entertainment'?  The first time I served as a Community Judge, that's exactly what I thought.  "Wow!  This was waaay better than going to a movie, I didn't even have to pay, and they gave me great snacks!"  I hope likewise that your experience with us will be engaging and entertaining!

On behalf of our homeschool families of the NCFCA Speech & Debate League, Thank you for your prayerful consideration!  We hope to be in touch with you shortly to see how this might fit into your schedule.  Don't hesitate to contact us with questions.
